Benefits of a using Cloud- basedPBX system

Before we proceed to discussion on Cloud- based PBX system, one point has to be made clear to you that Cloud PBX is not a single word.

 
It consists of two different words- Cloud and PBX. Cloud refers to cloud computing. Normally a cloud computing does the job of storing and accessing data over the internet rather than on a desktop computer or any sort of hard drives. On the other hand, PBX means Public Branch Exchange which is run by a service provider who routes the calls to you. When both these technologies are combined, we get a phone system called VoIP which works on internet platform. Even though it is quite clear that the solution or service provider does the job of transmitting the calls, ultimately it is the end-user who the person is facing the trouble when the implementation of the technology is not done properly by the service provider. However, some of the benefits of using cloud-based PBX systems are:

• Quality of the call: A business communication requires the call made or received to be clear because if whatever is communicated is not clear there is chance of misunderstanding between the parties. So in such a case, a cloud based PBX system provides excellent clarity in the calls. However it depends on the service provider, how well he is transmitting the calls.

• Storage facilities: Since the data is stored in cloud-based PBX, the amount spent on purchase of hard disks can be reduced. It is the personal interest of the end-user to store his data personally other than cloud-based PBX.

• Security of your data: One should have faith in the service provider regarding security of his data. Cloud-based PBX provides security to your data.

• Other facilities: Other facilities such as dedicated customer service, contacts management, good connectivity etc. are the benefits one can enjoy using cloud-based PBX.

There is one more protocol used by many people – SIP trunking. SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol. Technically SIP trucking is a voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology through which Internet Telephony service providers provide telephone services and other communications such as voice, video and other streaming media applications like web conference calls, sharing of desktop etc. to end users who are equipped with SIP based private branch exchange (PBX). In simple words SIP is that technology which does the job of creating, modifying and terminating sessions of one or more than one parties belonging to an IP network. SIP works on two way call or conference call.
