The Gulf International School in Madinat Sultan Qaboos is situated in a two storied school building with a playground next to it.

 
The Gulf International School is a non-selective, co-educational, English medium school started in September 2013 in Muscat. GIS aim is to nurture students from Kindergarten to 13 years of age. The School presently runs classes for Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 2, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4 levels. The School has an international mixture of students hailing from over 24 different nationalities and teachers and support staff hailing from 10 different countries.

Situated in the lovely neighborhood of Madinat Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, the school delivers an admirable learning environment for young children setting out on a journey of self-discovery and exploration of the world around. The curriculum is framed around the British National Curriculum with suitable alterations.

Co-curricular activities

At GIS equal prominence is given to Co-curricular and supplementary activities. Academics are balanced with activities and assignments to make sure that students gain a complete understanding of conceptions. Our activities intend to cultivate social leadership, team building and initiative taking skills among students.

The school also has Kickboxing, Gymnastics, Extra English, Extra Math, Extra Arabic, Music, Arts and Crafts activities conducted every day after school hours. We also go on fixed field visits and have theme based activities which help learning more. All our activities compliment the syllabus and provides for improved learning which is appreciated by the students.

Curriculum followed

Our Kindergarten activities emphasis on developing community skills, linguistic skills, counseling skills, large and small motor synchronization, secure relationships with other children and adults and optimistic self-image in a rich, play-oriented environment.
Each group at the School will have its own classroom arranged according to the interest and activity areas suitable to the child’s growth. The School follows the British Curriculum with appropriate changes taking in to attention the international mix of students and their requirements. Arabic and Islamic studies are offered to Omani students and for Arab students who opt for the same.
