The second location sets out from the foot of Big Ben by Westminster underground station and takes in the tourist sights around Westminster, Whitehall and Buckingham Palace as well as some lesser know streets untouched by the mobs of tourists. The treasure pub at the Westminster location is a beautiful decorated Victorian pub within easy access to public transport but is off the beaten track so not too busy. The treasure in The City route is a fantastic historic pub with a great story and links to some of London’s most famous landmarks, this can get busy at the period straight after work on a weekday so try and avoid that time if possible.

How does The Great Game work? You are provided with a clues sheet, map and compass. Your task is to follow the clues sheet solving the clues, cracking the codes and answering the riddles. After successfully completing this and the orienteering work you will find yourself with the co-ordinates to draw an X on the map – this is where the treasure is! Once you have the X you can make your way to the pub and reward yourself by enjoying some great food and drink at discounted prices! Exclusive to The Great Game is the treasure hunt idea in London we call the Codebreaker – as you follow the route there are 5 Codebreaker pictures which you must locate (don’t worry there is a slight hint on when to look out for them). Once you have found them you can write down what the numbers/letters are that have been blurred out on the clues sheet picture, these are then used as the co-ordinates for the X.
