Gutes lässt sich auch über die Anschlüsse sagen. Einem USB-C-Port (über den sich leider keine Bildschirme anschließen lassen), zwei USB 3.0- sowie einem HDMI-Port auf der rechten Seite, stellt Acer noch einen weiteren USB-Port und einen SD-Kartenleser auf der linken Gehäuseseite gegenüber. Letzterer ist mit "normaler" Größe eine Wohltat für Fotografen. Die jüngsten Notebooks auf unserer Teststreckbank hatten allesamt nur einen microSD-Kartenleser. Schade, dass das Acer-Notebook auf einen proprietären Stromanschluss setzt.

Beim Acer Swift 3 des Jahrgangs 2018 habt ihr die Wahl zwischen einem 14 oder 15,6 Zoll messendem Bildschirm. Dementsprechend ist die Bildschirmdiagonale zwischen 35,6 und 39,6 Zentimeter groß. Beide Varianten sind leicht entspiegelt, von einem "matten" Displays kann aber dennoch nicht die Rede sein. Unsere 15,6-Zoll-Anzeige spiegelt dafür längst nicht so stark, wie die eines aktuellen MacBook Pros.Die Auflösung unseres Testgerätes beträgt Full HD. Optional bietet Acer nur für die 15-Zoll-Version ein UHD-Display an. In beiden Fällen kommt ein IPS-Panel zum Einsatz, welches eigentlich große Blickwinkel bieten sollte. Wir waren daher beim durchgeführten Eizo-Monitortest ein wenig verwundert, als dies nicht ganz der Fall war. Aus spitzem Winkel lassen die Farben nach. Im normalen Alltagsbetrieb bekommt ihr davon zum Glück nicht viel mit. Da ist die recht schwache Maximalhelligkeit ein handfesterer Kritikpunkt.

Klasse: Auf der Rückseite müsst ihr elf Schrauben lösen, dann könnt ihr den Aluminiumboden abnehmen und erhaltet Zugriff auf die verbauten Komponenten. Ganz leicht lässt sich dann etwa die HDD oder die SSD bei Bedarf wechseln. Und auch der 48-Wattstunden-Akku ist verschraubt und nicht verklebt. Das neue Acer Swift 3 des Jahrgangs 2018 ist bereits erhältlich. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung liegt bei 599 Euro für die Basisversion mit 14-Zoll-Bildschirm. Die Preise für die Variante mit 15,6 Zoll großem Bildschirm beginnen bei 799 Euro. Unsere üppig ausgestattete Testversion schlägt mit knapp 1.200 Euro zu Buche. Den Fingerabdrucksensor für Windows Hello gibt es in allen Versionen.
