We’re Open for Business during COVID-19
 
[MAUMEE, OH. JUNE 18, 2020] – Here at Georgette’s, we’ve been working hard to reopen our dine-in café. COVID-19 required us to make changes including closing our gift shop and dining room, be we are now fully reopened. When you come to visit us, you can trust that we’ve taken every precaution to clean, disinfect and protect ourselves and our customers against the spread of the coronavirus.

We are following all the governor’s orders regarding reopening the dining room and gift shop at Georgette’s. We are following the responsible protocols, including requiring face coverings for our employees. We are asking that our customers wear them as well, though it is not a requirement to visit our store. We conduct daily health assessments and encourage regular hand-washing, sanitizing and social distancing. Throughout the day, you’ll see our team sanitizing and cleaning the dining room and all of our spaces, helping to reduce the risk of the pandemic’s spread. We are limiting capacity as needed and will report any COVID-19 infection immediately, so our staff and customers can make plans to stay safe or get tested.

We know that finding somewhere to sit down for a cup of coffee has been hard with the changing environment in Ohio, but we’re here and open to take care of you. If you’re not ready to stop in, we can still help with your take-out order. We are offering breakfast, lunch, pastries, desserts, and other items for carry out. We also provide platters and desserts for events, such as bridal showers or graduation parties. Call ahead to place your order, and we’ll have it waiting for you. All our team members are looking forward to seeing our customers sit down inside for a bite to each with us again. We continue to offer unique, fair trade and locally made gifts that support those with developmental disabilities on their journey to live life to the fullest. Georgette’s is a part of Sunshine Communities, which helps support those with developmental disabilities. At Georgette’s, people with developmental disabilities can find opportunities for personal growth and relationships within the community. At Georgette’s, all our staff members of all abilities work together to prepare food and serve our customers. At Sunshine Communities, over 400 men, women and children with developmental disabilities in Northwest Ohio are supported. Our Maumee campus is still home to around 50 individuals and continues to support them with access to a therapeutic pool, a gym with adaptive equipment and a greenhouse where crews raise produce for the community.
