According to preliminary estimates, the potential new discovery could contain between 250 and 300 million barrels of oil. Gas Natural Recovery will send a team of analysts to determine the total depth.

Gas Natural Recovery’s Chief Exploration Officer commented on the potential new discovery saying “We will assess the upper and lower sequences. So far, the reservoirs show excellent petro-physical properties and an intensive data collection will be carried out which will give us an indication of production capacity.”

Gas Natural Recovery’s Chief Exploration Officer also added “Mexico is a mineral rich country and we can only anticipate future growth. With our other projects in Latin America, we are producing on average 13,000 barrels of oil per day. This discovery could be the opening of a potential commercial prospect and we want to get going as soon as possible.”
