Universal Care, Inc. is owned and operated by an experienced group of managed care executives and physicians.

Brand New Day, a Medicare Advantage prescription health plan available in 12 California counties, will partner with CareCar, a non-emergency transportation company that serves the healthcare sector, to bring its state-of-the-art services to its members. Based in Newport Beach, CareCar can be likened to Uber but its certified drivers have experience transporting those with medical needs and make sure members arrive at their appointments safely and on time. Brand New Day Executive Vice President Jay Davis says the service will start on Jan 1, 2020.
“We are so happy to offer our members this state-of-the-art service that is so easy to use, which is important to our members” said Davis. “They don’t need to be tech savvy as CareCar will be able to arrange transportation by telephone, online or on a mobile app.”
Added CareCar founder Joshua Itano, “We offer a unique service that has proven beneficial to members of other healthcare companies nationwide. Brand New Day will find that our model reduces risk and unnecessary costs while improving health outcomes and member satisfaction and retention.”
Itano says that his company offers real-time monitoring, advanced analytics and a virtual marketplace of certified drivers. Also, members enjoy 24/7 support, last minute scheduling, door-to-door service and preferred drivers and vehicles.

About CareCare

CareCar is a technology and health services company that is redefining the non-emergency medical transportation sector with a new business model that pairs trained and dedicated drivers with patients who need a ride to medical appointments. Lack of transit access and deteriorating driver-provider skills are significant barriers to care for many patients, particularly those who are aging and/or living with chronic health conditions. CareCar’s specially trained drivers provide service people can trust with their loved ones when they can’t be there to give transport them to an appointment themselves. The company partners with health plans to create healthier communities. Learn more at www.carecar.co.
