(Orange Countians Turn Out For Sir Bruno Serato’s Caterina’s Club Annual Event)

It was a glorious evening punctuated by culinary excellence, live entertainment, local celebs, a collection of some of the world’s rarest and valuable automobiles and, most importantly, a strong showing of Orange County’s most caring and giving citizens all there to show their support for the region’s most vulnerable population – children in need. Thanks to their generosity, more than $363,000 was raised for Caterina’s Club, a nonprofit started by chef/restaurateur Sir Bruno Serato to feed 4,000 underprivileged children nightly, find permanent housing for families in need and introduce at-risk youth to careers in hospitality.
As in past years, the event was held at the Marconi Automotive Museum in Tustin, which was transformed into an elegant supper club setting where guests enjoyed dinner and live performances by “America's Got Talent’s” Prince Poppycock and Italian singer Maria Elena Infantino. Among the 425 attending was KFI radio personality Bill Handel, who is a longtime supporter of Serato and Caterina’s Club, and Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait, City Council member Stephen Faessel, Mayor Pro Tem Jose Moreno and Dan McClory from the Italian Royal Family Savoy order.
Caterina’s Club serves pasta each night in 77 locations in Orange and LA counties with more 2 million meals served to date. His influence has extended far beyond the local area as other chefs in the U.S. and abroad including those in Chicago, New York, Texas, Mexico and Italy.
For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international acclaim including profiles in People Magazine, “CBS Evening News,” “NBC Nightly News,” and newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors is being named a CNN Hero, knighted by the Italian government, receiving a papal blessing from Pope Francis, becoming a recipient of the prestigious Ellis Island Award, getting a humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, earning numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to call attention to those in need.
