Eberl family establishes new company

Fall Protection & Strut Systems provides valuable products and services

BUFFALO, NY – The Eberl family has established a new company offering a reliable local resource for construction products and expertise in the specific area of fall protection and prevention. Nora E. Eberl and Joanna Eberl are majority owners of Fall Protection & Strut Systems LLC, with Joanna Eberl as chief accounting officer and Nora Eberl contributing strategic vision.

With 50 years of combined experience, FPSS professionals provide design and installation of permanent fall protection and prevention systems, using Unistrut products for strength, stability and dependability. Applications are practically limitless, ranging from agriculture and mining to utilities and energy, education and recreation, transportation and more. Complete project management encompasses custom design, engineering, fabrication and installation. Modular systems are also available.

In another area of specialized expertise, FPSS also provides design, engineering and installation of medical support systems and ceiling grids for sensitive equipment in new and existing facilities. Besides healthcare, applications include data and telecom grids, theatrical lighting, clean rooms, HVAC, and many others. Project managers and engineers execute jobs from design and engineering through fabrication and installation.

A related, and critical, aspect of FPSS expertise provides customers with comprehensive safety inspection, evaluation and certification services. Available individually or as a complete package, options include fall hazard assessment consultation, inspection and re-certifications as well as fall safety training. FPSS customers are served by Matthew Plizga, head project manager, and Ben Schlum, project manager. A professional engineer, Plizga was formerly with SJB Consulting, a geo-technical design company, and the Watson Bowman and Hatch Mott MacDonald civil engineering firms. He earned a B.S. in engineering from University at Buffalo. Schlum is a former owner of Groth & Schlum.

Joanna Eberl, MBA, is a graduate of Fordham University and previously worked for HSBC Bank.
