HamiltonHowe CEO Sees Resurgence of Investor Confidence

After fears of another global economic slowdown HamiltonHowe’s CEO identifies key data that indicates more stable times are ahead.

As annual reporting season approaches and global corporations prepare to release their statements, HamiltonHowe’s CEO believes that commentary from most will continue to be positive as investor sentiment appears to have rebounded with the wider market.

“We are seeing strong signals that the economy is getting back on track after a turbulent start to 2016. After fears that the United Staes was heading towards recession, most recent data strongly indicates that the US economy is some way off from falling into negative territory. As a result, we are seeing signs, particularly in the United States that the market is beginning to react to this and investor confidence is growing.”

“As many corporate fears over labour pressures were sounded out in the last quarter of 2015, labour shortages in the United States continued during a sluggish start to 2016. However as recent data indicates, the cost pressures are beginning to subside, presenting human resource departments with more options going forward.”

“The Eurozone paints a slightly different picture as recent political events such as the UK’s stress on EU reform, the ongoing migrant crisis and terrorist attacks, each casting a shadow over tourism drivers that are likely to impact pre-bookings as we begin to approach the holiday season.”

“Mainland China continues to release more than positive data, with consumer trends showing a stabilization in pricing and continued demand from branded items across the automotive, apparel and luxury item markets. Naturally the Chinese New Year period for sales was strong, which appears to have continued over the past month or so.”

“If we take a look at Brazil and the stagnation problems they are facing there, we can see that although the wider economy has added to internal economic difficulties, political issues continue to plague and hold back economic development. If Brazil is to release it’s potential there are certain monetary policies that the government needs change in order to promote sustainability.”
