New York, The United States of America: The can of Arizona Iced tea did not feel right to the police detective Sgt. Seth French of Glens Falls. The can was found along with the other items that belonged to a citizen of the city of New York. He was arrested then and there on the charges of drug sale.

To the police officers, it appeared an unopened can. When French started to inspect the can, an unscrewed top was revealed only to show a hidden compartment inside which a plastic bag full of twenty seven pieces of crack cocaine was found.

The can was a fake. The interior of the can was made up of silicon to make it seem like the weight of a legitimate drink.
Casertino said that at the training sessions, Glens Falls Police had heard that drug dealers often make use of fake cans to hide drugs but this seizure was the first he had come across.

Warren Country sheriff’s Lt. Steve Stockdale said that they had seen such cases. They have also found small amounts of drugs for personal use and some for sale. He said that over the years, the sheriff’s office had also come across fake cans with secret compartments to hide drugs.

The fake cans have been in existence from quite a few years and many parents are probably not aware about them. These fake cans which have secret compartments to carry drugs are sold by one or more than one store in Glens Falls.

According to Police, Habib Deli which is situated on South Street is one of the many stores which sell fake cans. Another store in Warrensburg has also sold many such cans over the years.

The Glens Falls store once had seven of the cans in a display shelf with glass pipes and other smoking devices which are typically used to smoke marijuana.

Abdullah Sammy Aishaoubi, the owner of Habib Deli said that he could recall selling only one fake can over these many years. He also said that these cans are not only used for all the wrong purposes of hiding drugs but can also be used to hide valuable things like jewellery.

The man who had the fake iced tea can named Thomas H. T-Money Gaines of Brooklyn, has been charged for selling drugs like crack cocaine.

About Fake Cans: Fake cans can be used for hiding drugs by having secretive compartment in it. More often than not, the interior of the cans is made up of silicon which makes the weight of the can seem like the weight of a legitimate drink. Inside the compartments, the pieces of drugs are hidden. Parents should be made aware of such kinds of things as many parents probably do not have an idea about the existence of such a thing. If anybody finds something wrong with the soda cans, he or she should immediately report the same to the police.
