Tampa Bay advertising agency, Evolve & Co, was commissioned to rebrand Blue Head Ranch, 31,000 acres of South Florida rangeland in what was known in pioneer times as “The 90 Mile Prairie”. The rebrand included logo design, font & pantone selection, videography, photography, social media asset design, and website development.

“Our story is different.” says Ron Goddard, Ranch Manager. “We needed an agency that could tell our story in the way we wanted it told. Evolve & Co brought our vision to life.”

The goal of Blue Head Ranch is to restore the rangeland to the level of ecological health believed to have existed before modern agricultural management practices became the norm. The primary tool is the cow; a herd of about 6,000 “Cracker” type cattle, and 40 saddle horses, roam the ranch in a planned grazing pattern that mimics the migratory activity of wild ungulates.

“It was crucial to convey the ranch’s ecological mission, as well as their process to provide exceptional quality grass-fed beef in Florida”, says Lisa Williams, President of Evolve & Co.
“The logo itself is a creative infusion of a Florida Cracker Cow and the state of Florida which is instantly recognizable. We chose a color palette that best resembled the colors found on the ranch, while adding in some navy blue for contrast and to reflect the sophistication of the operation.”

The Blue Head is cross fenced into over 70 pastures ranging in size from 10 acres to almost 3,000 acres and the ranchers move the herds through them on a schedule planned well in advance. Currently, the ranch has three main herds of about 2,000 head each. Using the principles of Holistic Planned Grazing developed by Allan Savory, Blue Head Ranch calculates how many pastures each herd will require, how long the rest period needs to be between grazings for adequate recovery of the grazed plants and how long the herd needs to spend in each pasture. https://blueheadranch.com/
