The best glasses overall

The common aviators are probably the most classic, flexible, and clearly American glasses you are able to own. Everyone wears glasses, and nearly everybody owns or has possessed a pair of these shades.

And you will want to? They look nice, flatter virtually every experience, are extremely functional thanks for their large contacts, and — like all nutrients — they'll never go out of style.

When you think "aviators," you most likely envision the more popular circular or tear-drop lenses. Our prime pick, the American Visual Original Pilot aviators, feature more squarish contacts that are less common and seriously great-looking. These colors have a distinct type that sticks out in the sea of tear-drop aviators most people wear. They are also perhaps more adaptable than common aviators, since the squarish contacts are greater suited for individuals with rounder faces.

Aside from boasting great American design, the Original Pilot aviators have an extraordinary historical pedigree. These glasses were once common problem for Air Power pilots and NASA astronauts and were the very first set of hues to attend the moon. Images of astronauts like Neil Armstrong and News Aldrin rocking their AO Original Pilots are all over the internet if you're curious.

At between $50-$90, the AO Original Pilots are also an irresistible price for a pair of American-made sunglasses. They're equivalent in quality to Randolph Executive aviators that price two times as much. I know own equally and my Unique Pilots are the people I typically reach for as my go-to pair. I suggest staying with glass lenses for these, also, as the plastic lenses sense too light and are more likely to get scratched.

One final observe about sizing: The lenses on these are spaced a bit more apart than these on tear-drop aviators, therefore be mindful not to order a size also large— especially with the initial "bayonet" temples that make it important that the body is roughly exactly the same thickness as your head. Individuals with small and slim faces should consider deciding on the 52mm lenses.
