What Problem Will E-Learnify Solve?

As per 2015 India Skills Report by CII:

Only 10% of all MBA graduates are employable and 17% of engineering graduates are employable.

A demand supply gap of 82 to 85% is expected in core professions. Alone IT sector is expected to face 3.5 million skilled workers shortages in coming year. The 18-21 age group had the maximum number of employability ,Upto 42% of women are reported employable against 30% of men.

Challenge is Opportunity:

Population of 1.3 billion, of which about 0.8 billion in the working age - India in 2020 is surely something the world can look forward to. According to economic predictions, that time would be the golden ‘Growth’ era in the demographic dividend. We would not only have enough manpower to meet our needs but we can help the rest of the world as well.

In the glitz and glamour of these numbers, one often chooses to ignore that in today’s era of knowledge based economy, quality of workforce is more important than quantity. Infact having a lower head count of skilled manpower is much better than a manpower whose larger portion is unemployable. Considering the present situation, this is the future India is rushing towards. And this is one of the biggest challenges that we as a nation are ever going to face.

- Researches show that if we continue in the current pace, we would have a skill gap of 75-80% across Industry sectors. There will be people but with skills that corporate do not require, and jobs for which the right fit is not available. The economic impact of this vicious cycle is something one can estimate, but the social impact of having a powerhouse of educated yet frustrated youth who are directionless with no jobs in hand is unimaginable.

Dimension 2:

The Total SMAC(Social Media, Mobility, Analytics, Cloud Computing) Opportunity was about USD 164 billion in 2013 and is expected to grow as much as 75% to USD 287 billion in 2016

Opportunity: The new SMAC opportunity requires the workforce with more skills, making companies think about how they train people.

In past, training was more structured and aligned to a few popular platforms. Now, training sessions are unstructured, self driven or on the job, experience driven rather than classical long class room training.
In short, Training Industry is on verge of boom with the emergence of SMAC and Skill shortage prediction by CII.

The startup will have a founding team of 3 members which will comprise of entrepreneurs, educationalists, teachers and a clutch of contributors from education sector.

Business Model:

E-Learnify plans to run the startup bootstrapped and concentrate on building a good product and content. The students will be charged but he declined to disclose more details on this.
