Nepal is known as “the Property of the Himalayas" and albeit it is comparatively small size, the country gets the encompassment of a vast range of diversities that pertain to geography, wildlife and culture. One of the ten tallest mountains in the world, Nepal has eight of these, including Mount Everest- the mountain peak on Earth. As such, hiking in Nepal has become one of the adventures to do among enthusiastic travelers and trekkers all around the world. The country has amazing trekking destinations that vary from each other concerning their prominence topography and landscape. Each year, the country to enjoy its cultural, natural and traditional hallmarks is visited by tens of thousands of travelers and trekkers. The trekking destinations of Nepal Among all, Everest's area is considered the most famous, and the Everest Base Camp Trek is arguably the trekking journey accountable for a part of revenue generation in the tourism industry of the nation.
The Everest Base Camp Trekking Trail
A plane journey from the capital of this country to Lukla airport(https://www.greatnepaltreks.com/lukla-airport) takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes and is considered as one of the very dramatic plane journeys that are short on Earth. The Lukla Airport is quite an intriguing airport that's located on a pond and has a runway which drops off to the valley below as the runway ends. Tall hills and mountains surround it, along with the terrain in Lukla are rather different from Kathmandu. This change is felt immediately as one lands in Lukla. From the village of Lukla, before eventually reaching the Everest Base Camp, the trail then proceeds to go through cities such as Dingboche, Monjo, the Sagarmatha National Park, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Phakding and Gorakshep. This interval may be adjusted to suit the trekker's needs and conveniences, although normally, the hiking journey lasts for fourteen days. The duration from one place to the next takes about 5 to 6 hours as the space between 2 villages in the Khumbu is roughly 10 to 12 kilometers. Acclimatization to the high elevation terrain is typically done in the mountain town of Dingboche and Namche Bazaar.
Best Time for Everest Base Camp Trekking
The trek can be done at any time of the year and can be available to do during the year. Nepal mostly encounters four main seasons- fall (September to December), spring (March to May), winter (the end of December to February) and summer (June to August). The autumn and the spring seasons are believed to be the best seasons because the weather conditions during these months are suitable and favorable for hiking the camp trek. The clouds tend to dissipate and the mountains' perspectives are clear. Winter and summer aren't perfect for trekking, but the travel may still be gone. The monsoon occurs in the summertime and hiking trails become muddy and slick with the rain that is constant. The views of these hills are not as apparent as the spring or autumn seasons. In the winter, high passes in the hills tend to become blocked because of heavy snow and the region experiences extremely cold temperatures. That is why autumn and spring are considered the peak trekking seasons because most of the trekkers to Everest arrive during that time and resorts and plane tickets become booked fast.
Essential trekking equipment’s
Everest Base Camp Trek includes appropriate trekking boots, sleeping bags, duffle bags, hiking poles, and appropriate hiking clothing. It's important to get trekking boots that you are familiar with and have “broken into". Trekking in boots that you're not comfortable in can result in blisters on the foot and just an unpleasant trip ruined by the feel of boots in the mountainous terrain. That's the reason why having good and comfortable trekking boots (of any brand, provided that you are comfortable wearing them) is important. It is also recommended to pack as light as possible. Packing is going to lead to fewer hassles and chances of losing items. For carrying duffle bags from the hills, porters are generally hired. A porter is capable of transporting up to 25 kilograms of weight between 2 individuals. Packing a bag that doesn't go beyond over 12 kg's weight is the way to go. Hotels in Kathmandu provide professional services of security storage lockers where you can save your luggage not essential for the trek. There are many shops in Kathmandu that sell trekking and trekking equipment. Once you arrive in the city you can rent/hire them. A proper Down Jacket is essential, but if you are trekking during the spring or autumn, the temperatures during the day stay mildly warm and you may increase in hiking shorts and T-shirts. The temperature does drop down a notch or two as the sun sets and the atmosphere becomes cold-warm caps, wool socks and coats come in handy. Other items that are essential can include sunscreens, sun-glasses, and trekking hats.
