The Independent Documentary Film Production company started its journey with the first major documentary production named OTEC-1 in 1981 and with time, they expanded their territories and pushed their limits to come up with big projects like 30 minutes program series for Comcast Cablevision in 1982, a documentary named ‘Diving California’s Channel Islands’ in 1983, Tarawa and Big Cats and many more projects.

Macdonald Production started making promotional documentary for prime dive destinations in 1982 and some of their major works include Truth Aquatics Located in California and Hotel Cabo San Lucas located in Sipadan and Baja. They have documented many rare and not widely recognized species including pygmy seahorse, mimic octopus and venomous snake Blenny. The aquatic film Indonesian Safari in 1994 and highly recognized project named Bizarre Critters in 1997 which was used to illustrate diving in Indonesia where another big accomplishments that added feathers to the company’s success. After the collaborative efforts with his wife in making the series named ‘Secrets of California Waters’ in 1996, Bill came up with a bigger project called ‘More Secrets of California Water’ in 1999 which was later commissioned by The Discovery Channel.
