Fraudsters Dupe Woman of Her Jewelry in Delhi by Promising her bright and polished, better-looking Gold ornaments. In her complaint, the woman said she went to a market in South Delhi area where a man named Himanshu Verma asked her to get her gold ornaments polished.

New Delhi: A 35-year-old woman recently lodged a complaint wherein she urged that she was allegedly duped of her jewelry and cash by a man named Himanshu Verma. Verma committed fraud by luring the woman by claiming that he can get her gold ornaments polished at a very affordable rate, police said.

In her complaint, the woman said she went to a nearby market in South Delhi, where she encountered a man, roughly in his 40s who asked her to get her gold ornaments polished. The man introduced himself as one Himanshu Verma. The woman got convinced and gave him her gold jewelry, which included a gold chain, four bangles, a pendant, earrings, and two rings. He asked her to wait for a few minutes as he went to take his unique solution needed for polishing. The woman kept waiting near his stall, but he did not turn up even after her waiting for 40 minutes. The woman started panicking, and people began collecting near her to enquire about the incident. The woman was weeping when someone suggested her to complain to the nearby Police station, said the police official.

Recently a lot of complaints are getting registered of people asking for gold jewelry and providing a shiny and polished in return. It is required that people become more aware and do not share their valuables with a stranger, said the officer. If there is ever a need to get the gold or diamond jewelry polished, it should be taken to a jewelry shop that holds the practicing license.

After the woman lodged the complaint, Police has been looking for the fraudster through scanning the CCTV cameras and interrogating the shopkeepers at the South Delhi based market.
