The Evolution of Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy

Regenerative stem cell therapy is considered to be the medical innovation of the century. Now, researchers have found a way to regenerate an unlimited amount of blood cells from readily available cells.

The research thus conducted has become the first time any group has successfully formed a new line of blood cells from stem cells. This can lead to treating numerous blood disorders and conditions like leukemia more effectively. Latest research has opened up new possibilities that would provide a path to treat people with genetic or acquired blood diseases. It can help generate clinically usable stem cells which can then directly be injected into the patients.

Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are stem cells that last for a long period of time and can change into any type of blood cells: red blood cells, white blood cells or platelets. There are billions of blood cells that do not survive for long and it constantly needs to be replenished. When there is a halt in the replenishment process, severe blood related disorders arise like anemia, bleeding disorders or life-threatening occur. One of the special properties of HSCs is that they have the ability to self renew. Hence, a few thousand of HSCs in a person can generate blood cell for that particular body for the rest of his or her life.

Previous researches were being conducted in the field but without much success. Researchers were unable to create an environment where in the HSCs could self renew and then meta morph into the required blood cells. The research team also discovered that the endothelial cells serve as the nurturing environment that was previously required to make the self renewal possible.

If this method is refined and can be used on humans, it would have a wide array of applications. It would allow patients in need of bone marrow without a genetic match to regenerate the marrow using the stem cells. It can definitely help people suffering from blood diseases like leukemia and also cure people of genetically acquired defects like the sickle cell anemia. More profoundly, it will provide a platform for the vascular niche expansion model of the stem cells for better perpetuation. It will also provide a deeper understanding into the previously unknown growth factors and allow cloning the cells.

Identifying now the remaining unknown factors will not only allow for the treatment of blood related diseases, but also provide answers to the long lingering questions about stem cells. It can be then soon implemented to a clinical setting which would cure current untreatable diseases and birth defects. Regenerative stem cell therapy is evolving rapidly at a breath neck pace and the gaining popularity of the treatment is a proof of how effective it has turned out to be. Apart from being non-invasive unlike surgeries, stem cell therapy also do not include any unwanted side effects. For more details, stemcelltherapyforpain.com

The Stem Cell Institute of America trains physicians in the community on the amazing benefits of stem cells, so they in turn are able to share their now extensive knowledge in this exciting subject with their patients. The physicians have decided to educate local clubs, churches, business, organization in their community etc. on one of the most significant medical breakthroughs in natural medicine.
