The Skoda Superb prototype reveals very important details

Posted June 25, 2018 by Circle

Skoda has tested the prototype versions of Superb model since August 2016. This week, for the first time, the eyes of photojournalists have documented the images of every model without any camouflage.

Judging by the details on the front bumper and discs attached to the center of the wheels, it is very likely that the manufacturer is testing a new engine, or even a new powertrain.

Of course, no one can be sure to confirm this hypothesis other than the manufacturer, but we can suppose that this is about testing a new plug-in hybrid powertrain which Skoda had already announced. This plug-in powertrain is set to be released in 2019.

If this hypothesis turns out to be correct, it will mean that this version of Superb will have an identical powertrain like the VW Passat GTE which will be restyled and introduced this year.

It is still unclear whether the conventional and plug-in hybrid version of the Superb will be released at the same time, or the conventional one will be introduced first.

According to the rumors, the restyled Superb should have a premiere this autumn, a week before Paris Motor Show.
