Three skilled providers have joined the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers (CHWC) team and are now providing urology services to local residents five days a week. Dr. Scott Shie, Dr. Nicholai Kiehl and Brandi Alwine, PA-C, all of Van Wert Health, began seeing patients at Bryan Hospital in November of 2021.

Dr. Shie and Dr. Kiehl are board certified by the American Board of Urology. Both physicians earned their medical degrees from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Shie completed his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at the Akron General Medical Center & Akron City Hospital. Dr. Kiehl completed his internship in general surgery and residency in urology at the University of Louisville.

Brandi Alwine is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Central Michigan University and has worked in the urology specialty for over a decade. Alwine specializes in a range of general urology care, including overactive bladder, recurrent UTIs, enlarged prostate and many other conditions.

At the CHWC Urology Clinic at Bryan Hospital, comprehensive, patient-centered care is available to individuals seeking help for acute conditions such as: urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney and bladder stones, overactive bladder, incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, hematuria (blood in the urine), cancers of the bladder and kidney, neurogenic bladder, fistula and many others.

The urology team at CHWC provides gender-specific care for men and women as well. Urogynecology specialty care is available to female patients with pelvic organ prolapse and mesh problems, female stress incontinence and female sexual dysfunction. Our team also treats a range of male-specific issues, including: prostate problems, infertility, erectile dysfunction, cancers of the prostate and testicles, penile conditions and more.
