MS Dhoni as reported earlier began his IPL 2020 campaign March 2 and as expected received a heart-warming welcome. Chennai Super Kings shared a video as their skipper landed in Chennai and the post went viral in no time.

Dhoni joins CSK camp

On Monday MS Dhoni joined his Indian Premier League team for the 13th edition of the league. The franchise took to the social media to welcome their captain. They shared a 59-second video clip in which Dhoni can be seen traveling from the Chennai airport to the team hotel. The franchise postd the video with the caption saying, “Every goose shall bump with first-day first show feels! Just start the whistles!”

Dhoni’s arrival at the beginning of the March was earlier informed by the CEO of Chennai Super Kings K.S Vishwanathan. In an interview with IANS he told, “Dhoni will reach Chennai on March 2 and will start training the next day at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. (Suresh)Raina will also be training with him, but there will be no international player as of now.”

Dhoni to play IPL 2020

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been out of professional cricket since mid-July 2019. India lost the World Cup semi-final to New Zealand last year and the match attracted a lot of criticism. Dhoni’s batting approach was criticised as well along with the whole team. After the exit Dhoni took a sabbatical leave for three months which was extended later. In the meantime, India played a number of series at home and away. Former Indian captain made himself unavailable for the selection throughout.

Till now nobody knows when Dhoni would make comeback to international cricket. He remained silent throughout and kept giving birth to a lot of speculations. Chennai Super Kings although confirmed that Dhoni would be captaining the side in the upcoming season of the IPL as well. This news did not just come as a relief to the fans but they started counting days as well.
