As New York City continues to recover from COVID-19 pandemic, a phased easing of restrictions has begun. A leading plastic surgery practice based in Manhattan, NYC, bodySCULPT® has announced that they are expecting to reopen and begin resuming appointments by May 18, 2020. In the announcement on their website, the practice thanked their patients for their support throughout their temporary closure during the COVID-19 emergency.

The practice will begin resuming their appointments in compliance with all local, state, and government mandates. bodySCULPT® will be following all guidelines from CDC and the state health department to ensure the health and safety of their patients, staff, and facility. This includes protocols to ensure safe physical distancing, minimize interactions and limit the volume of individuals in the practice. Consistent with CDC guidance:

• Staff will use a pre-appointment patient screening script template to inquire via phone about patients’ potential COVID-19 symptoms or exposure ahead of entry to the facility.
• Patients are encouraged to come alone. Non-patient visitors will be restricted and family members will be asked to remain in the car for the duration of the visit.
• All treatment rooms and patient contact areas will be cleaned and disinfected with EPA approved products.
Under the guidance from public health authorities and professional societies, bodySCULPT has put in place many measures to ensure the health and safety of their patients and staff in order to resume patient care.

BEFORE PATIENT VISIT:

• Patients are advised to let the practice know if they are experiencing fever, cough, runny nose, or have been exposed to someone in the previous 14 days who tested positive for COVID so that their appointment can be rescheduled.
• bodySCULPT will still be offering complimentary virtual consultations for the safety and comfort of their patients and staff.

WHAT bodySCULPT Is DOING TO ENSURE MAXIMUM PROTECTION:

• Initially opening the practice from Tuesday – Friday, 9am-5pm.
• Staff will show proof of health before returning to work & have daily temperature checks.
• Staggered appointments and staffing to ensure social distancing.
• bodySCULPT's entire team will be wearing masks, with doctors/nurses wearing N95 masks and Face Shields.
• Will have hand sanitizers available throughout the office.

WHEN ARRIVING FOR APPOINTMENT:

• While visiting the practice, it is a MUST to wear a mask. Depending on the appointment, patients may be asked to keep their masks on during their entire visit.
• Patients will be screened for COVID-19 upon their arrival and their temperature will be taken.
• Social distancing will be observed in the waiting room and front desk.

REGARDING ELECTIVE SURGERY

• bodySCULPT will also exercise all appropriate COVID-19 protocols. The practice is ready to proceed with elective surgery when the NY Department of Health gives them permission to do so, which they are hoping will occur in June.
