OUR LEGACY LOST BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

VICTORVILLE, CA July 1, 2020- Military dependents and former residents of George AFB are holding a memorial service and silent protest at the George Air Force Base Hospital parking lot on July 12th, 2020 at 8:00 AM. We are placing hundreds of baby shoes and a plaque in memory of our children lost due to miscarriages and stillbirths as a direct result from maternal contamination exposure, during our time living and working on base until it’s closure 1992.

We were unknowingly exposed to numerous toxins that have had devastating health outcomes. The Air Force has yet to respond to these very serious issues concerning Veterans and family members of the base. Despite their deafening silence, the families are holding the memorial ceremony in order to bring healing and closure to the thousands that suffered losses throughout the years of operation. The rates of reproductive issues with the women of George AFB far exceeds the national average. The housing area was condemned due to the highly contaminated soil, that makes it unsafe for human habitation.

On behalf of a group of Dependents and Veterans, MAATA has submitted claims again the US Air Force in connection with the hazardous exposures. We are holding a small ceremony and expecting many to attend. We wish to invite the local community for support and asking for additional donations of newborn or preemie baby shoes in loving memory of the thousands of babies lost. For more information contact [email protected] or email the MAATA address above. Our mission is to assist those that have been affected by military contamination throughout the United States, to know that they are not alone and we ask that they join us, so that our legacy is not forgotten.
