(Monday - April 14, 2014) – While most teenagers are sitting at home playing video games, or watching television, a team of high school and college students from around the nation are joining forces to build one of the next hottest Ed tech startups on the market. Magikstra.com is a social network with the vision of connecting young high school students with influential mentors. Magikstra provides high quality connections for high school students to jump into their desired work field and get a head-start on the rest of the world.

“Magikstra really enables students to pursue their dreams by allowing them to find mentors and opportunities they might not have access to anywhere else. So many students have potential and a drive to do things, but are limited by the resources around them. Magikstra really hopes to change that, and give everyone the expert guidance they need,” comments Ananya Cleetus, CEO and Co-founder of Magikstra.

Magikstra is currently in development, and the team is working hard to develop a seamless platform that looks just as beautiful as it truly is. Magikstra just recently acquired three influential advisors that are assisting in launching this company. The Magikstra advisory board consists of Jeanine Swatton - Technology Evangelist/Engineer at Ninefold.com, Larry Berger - Founder/Executive Director of SLB Radio Productions, Inc. and Baris Yuksel - Senior Software Engineer at Google.

When asked about what prompted her to create Magikstra, Ms. Cleetus responded with her personal story: “The school I attend focuses more on humanities-based courses, and offers nearly nothing along the lines of my interests [in robotics and engineering]. Most of what I know is self-taught; everyone says this is the age of the autodidact, but I really wish I had had someone to guide me along and help me find research or job opportunities. I see so many students struggling in the same way, and I really think everyone needs some sort of mentor figure. If not to teach and help, at least to inspire.”
