[PERTH, February 16, 2016] – Barker-Whittle, a premier residential and commercial paint services contractor in Western Australia, give back to the community through a painting project for a cause. This mission is for a local cancer foundation, The Crawford Lodge in Nedlands. They worked with the Cancer Council Western Australia in helping give a fresh coat of paint to one of the organisation’s lodges.

The Perth-based painters acknowledge the support of the local community to their success in the business. As the residents entrusted to them the job to beautify their homes, they eagerly took on the opportunity to give back through this project.

Community Service Action

Along with other teams of Dulux-accredited painters, Barker-Whittle recently provided more than $100,000-worth of labour and services to give one of the Cancer Council Western Australia’s lodges a new look. The Crawford Lodge comprises six single units, 44 twin units, and three family units.

It is one of two self-catering lodging foundations by the Council that provided cancer patients and their families who live in Australia with a “home away from home.” Most of the patients and their caretakers travel all the way to Perth for the treatments, which is why a welcoming place is just fitting for them.

A Fresh Start

The facility has been at full capacity for 14 years, making all the guest rooms look worn out. With the free repainting services from Barker-Whittle and other Dulux-accredited painters, they were able to transform the atmosphere of the place anew.
