90% of Vietnamese use Facebook Messenger - Q&Me market research has conducted the messaging application usage in Vietnam and found out the very high popularity of Facebook Messenger.

Social media popularity has expanded rapidly worldwide and Vietnam is no exception at all. Asia Plus Inc. has conducted the survey in order to understand the popular social messaging services and their usage behaviors in Vietnam.
Facebook Messenger most popular with nearly 90% usage, followed by Yahoo! Messenger and Zalo.
When asked the messenger applications that Vietnamese use, Facebook messenger received the dominant popularity (87%) followed by Zalo (61%) and Yahoo! Messenger (56%). Facebook is popular among all the ages while Yahoo! has more supporters among 30s and above, while Zalo is more popular among teens.
When it comes to the frequency of the services, the survey has founded out that Facebook messenger is used much more than any other applications in Vietnam. 77% of the respondents have replied that they use the service daily, while 89% use it more than a couple of times weekly.
For the question of how long they use the messaging applications per day, as many as 45% male and 49% female has replied that they use the service more than 3 hours a day. 80% of male and 85% of female use it more than one hour per day.
