13th July 2011 - Giving an inspirational speech and a persuasive presentation is one of the hardest things to do in the world.
Keynote Speakers that have the power o convince others and the ability to put a spell on the audience are rarely found. But speaking on a positive note keynote speakers are not born, they are made; it’s nurture against nature.
And therefore, anyone can be a good keynote speaker.
There are a few important things that need to be taken into consideration when giving your big speech. You need to make the topic of your speech relatable to your audience, you might be a big shot or a person filled with passion, if you want your audience to know that you care for them, you need to make yourself sound like you are living their problem and it’s solution is as important for you as it is for them.
A good speaker cannot be great at whatever he speaks. There are always niches where one can communicate well.
For you to be a good keynote speaker, you need to find that niche, carve it out, choose your audience, and select what you want to talk about. People say it comes from your heart, but a prior framework development helps no matter what.
Going through your topic of speech before you go out there, gives you a heads up. Confidence is one thing, but it only works as long as you have a hold on what you want to talk about. All confidence and zero information would result in a disaster.
Furthermore, humor is key to getting your audience attracted. A joke every now and then helps loosen the serious atmosphere and build up a more comfortable space for the audience to interact and mingle.
Therefore, keynote speakers are not these “out of the world alien creatures” but, are normal human beings just like us; all they have is the urge to convince others and the skill of listening. These two things are what you need, to be a great Keynote Speakers.
Listening is as important as speaking.
