Corundum brick, with corundum as main crystal phase, is a kind of Al-Si?refractory?products. It has excellent high temperature mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and good wear resistance.

Raw material: Natural hydrous aluminum oxide include gibbsite and a boehmite etc., from which to get Al2O3 after heat dehydration, and then heated to 1450℃ to turn into corundum (α-Al2O3). Because natural corundum and natural pure aluminum stone are rarely storage in nature. Therefore, we normally use industrial alumina as raw?refractory?material to produce corundum.

Manufacturing process: There are 3 kinds of corundum bricks: Cast corundum bricks, re-sintered fused corundum bricks and sintered corundum bricks.?

To produce cast corundum bricks, put industry alumina, quartz powder and a small amount soda ash in the electric arc furnace, then melt them together, then by casting and annealing process, and finally machined to the desired shapes and sizes.?

Re-sintered fused alumina brick is made by bricks pressing machine, after mixing the crushed fused alumina particles and powder, adding a small amount of clay and binding agent and fully mixing for pressing. Adobe density is 2.75 ~ 2.85g/cm3, and it should be fired at 1700 ~ 1800℃.

Performance: Corundum brick has a series of excellent performances, such like high mechanical strength and hardness. In addition, it also has good abrasion resistance, anti-oxidation, corrosion resistance and electrical insulation properties.
