Dr. Andrew Campbell of Bellevue, NE holds a doctorate in Global Leadership from Indiana Tech University in Fort Wayne. He has written and spoken widely on issues of leadership, reconciliation and negotiation, and is a contributing author to the forthcoming Promoting Global Peace and Civic Engagement through Education. He will be among the presenters at the International Institute of Restorative Practices conference in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in October of 2016.

“This October, leading practitioners and thinkers who are shaping the emerging social science of restorative practices will converge at the home of the International Institute of Restorative Practices,” conference organizers say in advance literature. “Learn about the field of restorative practices and its rapid evolution in theory development and practice innovation.”

Restorative practices, according to the IIRP website, is an emerging field of study that is based on the idea that people are happier, more productive, and more likely to make positive changes when they perceive that those in authority are working with them, instead of against them. Proponents of the idea, which is related to restorative or transitional justice, say restorative practices have the potential to improve the lives of people and societies around the world.

“Leaders within the international community have struggled in responding to the resulting rise of human rights violations,” Andrew Campbell Bellevue Ne has written. “Scholars note that the political pressure for accountability and accurate narratives of committed mass atrocities are shaped by leaders executing transitional justice instruments.”

Earlier in 2016, Dr. Andrew Campbell conducted a Leadership and Negotiation Seminar at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands. In late 2015 he presented a paper on Forgiveness and Reconciliation as an Organizational Leadership Competence at the International Leadership Association in Barcelona, Spain. He has also presented papers at conferences in Montreal, San Diego, Denver, and other cities.
