• Clear your gutters. Remove debris such as leaves and dirt from the drain of your pool to allow the water to flow freely and away from the deck.

• Secure pool equipment, furniture, and electrical system. Turn off the power at the breakers for your pool equipment before a storm strikes. You can also protect equipment that could not be taken inside for safekeeping with waterproof covering. Remove pool and patio furniture such as chairs, table, and accessories and keep them in a safe place to prevent them from being carried off by heavy winds.

• Trim high trees. Remove tree limbs and branches that have the potential to go airborne in the event of strong wind. These can cause damages to your house and pool screen enclosure.
