Mainella has created SkinnyCharge and launches it on Indiegogo to generate funding for him to push through with the first run of production. Through the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, he aims to raise $10,000 from August 14 to October 13.

Mainella says, “With SkinnyCharge leave your dead battery fears at home; simply flip the switch, plug it in, and enjoy your extra hours of battery life.” The SkinnyCharge is the first of its kind powerbank. Only as thick as five cards stacked on top of each other, the SkinnyCharge is one of the slimmest powerbanks out in the market today.

SkinnyCharge contains charging ports for iPhone4, iPhone5 and micro USB. It is also built in with a mini LED light to be used as a flashlight. Its dimensions are 58.5mm wide and 92.6mm height, which allow it to easily fit inside a wallet. It is also lightweight at 32g.

According to Mainella, “This product has been a passion of mine and been in the making for one and a half years. I have met with some experienced engineers to help me pick the best materials to create this unique product. The battery itself is a 500mah (about half a phone charge on most models). And the outside is made of rubberized plastic to ensure long-term durability.”

There are four color options for SkinnyCharge, which is black, white, green and pink. Mainella is also planning to come up with a metal finish casing design that can accommodate engravings for personalization. This design is in the works to become a Kickstarter-exclusive perk.

“I am currently looking for $10,000 to get the first minimum order created. With the help of all you fabulous people, I believe we can get this done!” he says on his Indiegogo campaign page. The proceeds will be broken down into mold fabrication, design work, packaging, production, Indiegogo cost and merchant PayPal fees.
