The first step to driving onthe roads of Ontario is getting a valid driver’s license. If you are an experienced driver and have the license, you may be able to transfer your license to Ontario, and even eliminating or shortening the driving test process. There are several steps which you need to go throughbefore you become a fully certified drive.Ontario driving training will be helpful if you want to drive safely on Ontario roads. The classification includes a G1 or beginners license, G2, the middle stage and G license which will be the final step in the process and you will become a licensed driver. For completing this process, a minimum of 2 years needed and your age must be 16 years old.
The vision and a written test -G1
This is the first step which involves a vision test and a written test. The written test will be about the traffic rules and signs. You can join Ontario driving training to prepare for the written test. You can also study the Official Ministry of Transportation Drivers’ Handbook to learn the rules and traffic signs. Once the candidate passes both tests, he/she will be considered a beginner driver and need to gain driving experience over time.
For G1 tests there are specific DriveTest locations. Once you are prepared for the test, you can find a location convenient for you. Also, keep in mind that the location is able to accommodate your language of choice. You need to pay the fees to take the test and you must carry the valid identification proof that includes your date of birth, name, and signature. Once you’ve passed the written test, you can join the MTO approved driving schoolto practice driving with an accompanying instructor who has a minimum of 4 years of driving experience. It is important to be aware of the limitations of a G1 license.
The Road Test-G2
After having minimum one-year driving experience in any of driving schools Ontario, you may take your road test at a Drive Testlocation. By choosing a ministry approved driver education program, a learner driver may take the G2 after only 8 months. The G2 road test will test the basic driving skills like turning, reverse, parking and changing the lanes. Having the G2 license will allow you to drive independently, confidently and safely withfar fewer limitations than your G1.
The full license-G
Once you have successfully passed the G2 road test and maintained it for one year by joining driving schools Ontario, you will be able to take the final license test that is G-test. This road test will be final and include more complicated driving skills like 3-point turns,highway driving and parallel parking. Once you are done with G drivers test, you will be a fully licensed driver and can drive cars, small trucks, and vans.
