Chiropractic has been gaining a lot of attention in the recent times. Experts like Dr. Aaron Richardet have spend their lifetime perfecting the art of healing and continue to provide relief to the patients that most need it.

Most people around the world assume that chiropractic has always been the non-religious, natural and less intervening type of medicinal practice. What most people don't know is that chiropractic care initially renounced Christianity and modern medicine. For the first 75 years of its practice, many Americans rejected it as a medicinal practice and termed it “religiously suspect cult.”

Those who know of the metaphysical origins of chiropractic might think that they gained acceptance since they abandoned their religious philosophies. However, the fact remains, that chiropractic gained acceptance due to a mixture of carefully woven strategy to promote itself as a therapeutic use to both religious and non-religious people alike.

Chiropractic care owes most of its legitimacy to the founder David Palmer who found the art and credited it to other worldly communications between himself and disembodied spirit of a deceased physician. The new found practice of healing was mainly based on the idea of “innate intelligence” or simply termed “innate.”

In the words of David Palmer himself, “That which I named innate (born with) is a segment of that Intelligence which fills the universe,” a “part of the Creator.” Displacement, or “subluxation,” of spinal vertebrae impedes the freedom of Innate to flow from the universe through the human body. “Adjustments” restore Innate’s ability to “care for and direct the functions of the body.”

As the leader passed on his torch to his son, B.J Palmer believed that chiropractics had no use for a deity and humans themselves possessed the power to heal themselves within their body. This philosophy continues till date in some form or the other even though every religious aspect of the practice has been shed. The body's self healing power is something most chiropractors argue about, which has the power to relieve patients from the most unbearable pain. The only difference is that now “innate intelligence” has been replaced by scientific terms such as “nerve force” or “inherent.”

Whatever the case was with chiropractic treatment in the past, it is definitely not a religion now. It is a government approved medical practice that is helping countless people get back up on their feet without taking unnecessary and invasive risks like surgery. And experts like Dr. Aaron Richardet continue to improve upon the craft that was handed out to them to heal and cure patients of their ailments.
